The final version of macOS High Sierra will be released this fall, and as usual, Apple will issue a series of betas to developers and to the general public starting today. Not all Macs will support all of High Sierra's new features-some capabilities rely on hardware only included in newer Macs-but as long as your Mac runs Sierra, you’ll be able to get most of the new improvements if you want them.

MacBook Air (2012 and later) MacBook Pro (2012. Still, given that desktops and laptops improve at a slower rate and have a longer useful life than phones and tablets, it’s nice to see that Apple isn’t just heedlessly dropping support for older hardware based on its vintage rather than its capabilities. YoYotta requires an Apple computer running macOS 10.12 Sierra or newer, we recommend macOS 12 Monterey. Anything made more than seven years ago is considered “obsolete,” and Apple and its authorized service providers will no longer offer to support or repair it if you bring it in. Apple considers hardware made between five and seven years ago to be “vintage,” and it limits the type of service it will provide for those machines. At the time, the company told us that it wanted to bring the Mac’s software support cycle more in line with its hardware support lifecycle. Last year, Sierra dropped support for many 2007, 2008, and 2009-era Macs, the first time Apple had changed its system requirements since releasing Mountain Lion in 2012. Similar symptoms may have entirely different causes.Īs noted above that issue was around allowing the driver to install which needs to be done in High Sierra Security & Privacy and this is required by Apple. I'd like to help but since you're on a different (earlier) version of ScreenFlow and haven't listed your OS I'm not sure you have the same issue. High Sierra itself had fixes and the latest version you should be on is 10.13.6 which fixed earlier issues. Also new Macs use a new T2 chip which require the new sound driver which isn't available to 6.x. The original poser was on ScreenFlow 7.1 though and the later 7 series (7.3.x) had to use a new sound driver. You can find it at this link under Previous Versions.

If you are on High Sierra (as the original poster notes) you should be on ScreenFlow 6.2.4.
